The Mediterranean diet is inspired by the 1960s traditional diet from the people of Spain, Southern Italy, Crete and coastal Greece. So the name ‘Mediterranean diet’ is derived from its origins and not from the types of the diet cuisine. However, it is known by the world in 1990s. The Mediterranean diet has the virgin olive oil, high-salt content, low saturated fats and high fiber food as its features.
This new weight loss plan miraculously cures few diseases, such as ‘brain ictus’ or stroke, ‘myocardial infraction’ or heart attack, and metabolic syndrome which leads to cardiovascular diseases and diabetes. It also helps to prevent lung disease, asthma, allergies, Parkinson, Alzheimer, osteoporosis and even cancer. The Mediterranean diet doesn’t strictly state the best calories amount, so the less calories you intake, the better it is for weight loss and health.
